Sydney Real Estate
Real estate in Sydney is the most expensive in Australia. There is quite a large gap between the average Sydney home price and that of other major cities such as Melbourne, Brisbane and the quickly growing Perth.
With that said however, Sydney certainly does offer home buyers some of the best views money can buy. If you are fortunate enough to be able to afford a waterfront mansion then a couple of million will be at the lower end of the price spectrum.
Out in the suburbs you are able to pick up a very large house on a large property for around five hundred thousand dollars. Many people prefer this compared to spending the same amount on an apartment close to the city. It really does come down to your lifestyle choices and preferences.
Some of the most expensive suburbs in Sydney include:
- Milson's Point
- Mosman
- Elizabeth Bay
- Anywhere near the Harbour and within a 5km radius of the city.
Next down the ladder are suburbs such as:
- Northern Beaches
- North Shore
- Eastern Suburbs (although some of these are top price).
Then comes:
- Upper North Shore
- Sutherland
- Inner West
The most affordable locations in Sydney at the current time include:
- South Western suburbs
- Western Suburbs
- South Coast and Central Coast (although these aren't strictly part of Sydney, they are within a 2 hour drive).
So generally the CBD, North and Eastern suburbs are most expensive, followed by the South and then the Western suburbs.
Sydney is a wonderful place to live in, just make sure you conduct thorough real estate research before buying or renting your dream home!
